All of these took a long time, and they didn't stick as well as I had hoped. Figuring out the amperage for the awkward parts is a PITA. Obviously, the sunshine (what a gorgeous day) bleaches out the color.

This thing has been sitting around, in someone's inventory, since 1998, and now it's mine. It's like finding that bottle of fine wine. One less thing to plate.

Been looking for a tailgate handle for the last few hours, finally decided to ask, and Mud people delivered: https://overlandcustomdesign.com/products/80-series-land-cruiser-tailgate-handle.

Maybe not, OEM, but at least it doesn't look like it has pits all over it. Whatever material Toyota used on that original could not stand the test of time.

Cleaned and restored the interior handles.

I really like the brown and black accent thing; it turned out nice. Found a near-perfect plastic cover for the latch to go along with the whole thing.

Second thought, I'll chromate the smaller screws to keep everything matching, and take it back apart.

Dropped off parts, took a quick picture. They're working on blocking the rear quarter-panel weld patches, and it's coming along nicely; I've nearly paid off the shop, so I can finally wind down my side hustle jobs that have been funding the project.

We’ve been chatting on your Mud thread about this. See the piece on the left I. The first photo? It has bits of the rubber/plastic end cap hanging on. How is it attached? Glue? Can you pick those little pieces off? Just looking for intel as I research if it’s possible for me to make these.

Oooooh. We're talking about different things! I think that rubber piece is part of the metal - Toyota parts number wise, anyway. I was referring to the end caps on the metal, which are both chipped off and missing completely in your photo.
