Just remember that only Cali 76s had the carb cooling fan. Federal models did not.

Also, Australian 76s would have had drum brakes still as well I'm pretty sure.

Kurt drove his 40 over and dropped some leftover parts by after his 2f rebuild thread.
I didn't get to see it. But it gave me enough inspiration to get the 40 out and take it for its first wash since i think maybe since that first wash 3 years ago....and then we took it out for some more yard flowers Hannah wanted.

Hannah my wife has deemed my truck Hannah cause it was born in may 1976 like her.

I call them both honey badger....but only when they arent listening.
;)

Anyway..this thing needs a trip to the mountains..groceries and flowers...man oh man

Excellent! You'll love the fog lamps. I wish I had been able to get a harness to run them properly. I just made connections to the running light wires and controlled them that way.

Are those OEM or the repros?

Looks like you have a couple weekends worth of other projects there too! :thumb:

Begin axle and steering

I made some progress.
I got the ds knuckle torn down. Pics just cause...
Oh and I sanded on this knuckle a bit to get rid of that corrosion..

prog1.jpg

Then I moved on to the 5 new rod ends. The steering is real loose 10 to 2 nothing..so keen on seeing the improvements. ..

prog2.jpg

prog3.jpg

Then I took the centerlink out to rebuild it.

Pro tip..lol...for the next schmuck who has never done this before...

Leave it mounted to the frame to bust that big 22mm top cap loose..

prog5.jpg

The rebuild kit from cruiser outfitters is real nice..comes with everything..

prog6.jpg

I ended with a bunch of cleaning and painting..

Hey Martin.yea oems lights..brackets and switch from racer65

I got some progress done.
I am taking alot of time to clean everything up
Refinish the parts, and order oem hardware and other things.

I got the ds put mostly back together after long waits for some parts.

All the knuckle studs were loose..so I took them out and loctited them in.
A couple had bad threads so I ordered some new ones

I painted the new tie rod ends in high temp clear because I like the plain metal finish, but didn't want it to rust

But I can't figure out how to disassemble the knob to redo the innards. .

Does anyone know how to take this style knob apart?

Sorry, I am of no help. I have Warn premium hubs on the Bronco and wanted to do the same. I searched the interwebs high and low and did not find information/detail on how to fully disassemble. I did clean them as best I could with cleaner, brush and air. They have been operating smooth ever since. If you do figure it out, I would be interested in learning.
