Better than freakin' CCOT. No dangly red wires going across the engine bay, for instance.

That's a cool retrospective Matt.
Thanks for posting that.
I remember posting the ccot pick as the after and thinking that was a long shot.

Mike made an animated gif a few weeks ago of the before and after..and sometimes I watch it for long periods of time..lol

I have been driving it a lot and am fixing little things ..its fun

I remember having that (short duration in 40's production run) carb fan in my 76 when I bought it. It was inoperative and I ditched it before I knew WTF I was doing. That was 1982.

If it's operable that would be flippin' awesome. I think that model was in production for about 2, maybe 3 years before they put it in the '60 position on the driver's side fender. The original purpose was to dissipate the (ridiculous) heat from the newly minted EGR system on that carb/manifold side.

yeah that's pretty great man.

I ordered some tools for mine that were listed as OEM from some site and ended up getting some generic parts that had replaced the OEM ones.

I'll have to attempt to accomplish what you did.

Needless to say.. I'm jealous.

So what the heck is next? It seems pretty done. Enjoy it?

Fix license plate lights

Mike, I might as well get started on the tool collection fetish for the 40, so if the three wrenches are still available, I'll take them.

Found the pics from when we brought her home.
Long story short... the weather was good but there were signs of snow. Thank GOD I bought new tires before the trip! We literally put new tires on the night before.
