As much as I'd love to go on this run, I've unfortunately sold my 100 and purchased a domestic replacement wheeler that you can take the top off of. I don't want to take the spot of someone else who wants to go, but if the trip doesn't completely fill up and you don't mind a non-Yota in the group I'll be happy to rejoin!

The plan for this years run, is basicaly the same as the first year. We will start in St. Elmo Saturday morning. Thinking a 8am meet up time should leave enough time for the rest of the day. We will head to Hancock Pass, with a stop before hand at the Mary Murphy Mine and the old town site of Hancock. From there, we will go over Hancock Pass, and on the back side, making a great side trip to the Alpine Tunnel and train station. After the Alpine Tunnel, we will head to that night's camp, along the Middle Quartz Creek. Could use a few extra hands helping reserve the camp;). Sundays agenda will have us going over Cumberland Pass into Tincup. After checking out Tincup and Mirror Lake, we will head over Tincup Pass and back into St .Elmo. Where the trip comes to an end.

I'm excited for the run, been a while since i've been down to that area!

I'm not going to make it. It sucks that it had to get the chopping block for us. :(

A little map...or some direction would be nice. Sounds like St. Elmo is close to Buena Vista?

This will be all new territory for us!

The turn off for St. Elmo is about 8 miles south of Buena Vista on 285, on the right (west). Theres a sign. I forget how many miles out to St Elmo it is from there, but that road should take you straight in.

At this rate, by the time we get there, this run will have about the same number of vehicles that BOWAGW did.

Some more thoughts regarding the upcoming run:

First, getting to St. Elmo. Just south of Buena Vista, is the turn off, heading west. You'll want to look for Rd 162. Should see it right around Nathrop. It is about 15 miles to St.Elmo after turning onto 162.

I originally stated a 8 am meet up time at St. Elmo, but think we can get away with meeting at 8:30-9am that morning. Giving people more time to get there etc. After spending a little time in St. Elmo, we will depart for the day.

I plan to arrive Thursday morning sometime to reserve camp for the weekend. Everyone is welcome to show up at there discretion. I know in past years lots of folks would show up Friday night. We will be camping along the Middle Quartz Creek Road; 38 36'56.60" N 106 26'23.63 W if i'm reading Google Earth correctly.... It's a big enough site that will fit the group. If your pulling a pop up and don't want to go over Hancock to get to camp, you can get there via Parlin and Highway 50.

For the pot luck, i'll plan to cook up some burgers and brats. Feel free to bring whatever:). I think it was 200 that we had 6 or 7 Dutch Ovens going:cool:

Parking. This will be a bit of a challenge at one or two pots we will visit along the weekend. Mainly the Alpine Tunnel and the Mary Murphy Mine. We've managed in the past with big groups, and am not to worried about it. Just something to keep in the back of our minds.

Really looking forward to the long, fun filled weekend:cool::thumb:

Thanks man. Just the other day Leanne and I were talking about our first Cruise Moab and all the cool people we met - you were one of the folks we recalled.

Have a great trip, it sounds wonderful!
