I think you can get an extension on a temp tag. I could swore I got one one time. I think the eBay guy is talked about in the thread. You have the skills to at least open it and see if it needs resoldered. If it’s more than that send it in…

Yeah the temp extension is only 30 days though so bavrest would still be too long probably.



Took the top off the maf but I don’t see any obvious bad solder pads. Rechecked the resistance for the air temp sensor and that came back good again as well. So it’s just the open/close that’s the issue.

Then you are almost there. You got this. Check out the cleaning of them with contact cleaner. Bunch of youtube.... Is the flap sticking?

make sure there are no hairline cracks in the solder, clean the board with qtip and contact cleaner. Isn't the arm supposed to be over touching the flat contact?

I haven't seen that I'll take a look at it!

The arm was over I just moved it out of the way for the photo to give a better look at the connections. I'll give a nice to clean to everything on that main solder board and see if it helps the resistance values at all!

I might have found the issue!


Looks like some of the wiring shielded melted off. Going too see if I can somehow replace it

Well the wire isn’t replaceable sadly. Going to send it in to the eBay guy and hope he has extras to replace this part with.

I might have found the issue!

Worth trying to repair. I have a lot of bits of good automotive wire and can solder.

Welp that eBay guy didn’t do anything but spray paint it and reseal it.

Still reads 2000ohms at fully closed when it should be 200-600.

I have no clue what to do atp so if anyone finds a in spec afm let me know as otherwise it’s probably getting sold.
