Thanks! Most Duals are actually pretty unique in that they don’t use a belt or direct drive. It’s an idler pulley that runs the table. The drawbacks are that these turntables require a bit more skill to to get em perfect. I’ve got 3 turntables and so far this one sounds the best. I’m guessing it’s the Shure cartridge. The auto start works but soon after stops and returns. The manual works as it should. It’s mostly mechanical so could use some tweaking or maybe worn out bushings. I’ll check out electric city and see what they know about these things.

It’s definitely not the turntable to write home about or throw mass dollars at but I always like saving these old things and having them work like they should. I definitely prefer the old stuff over new.
Well done. Were you able to source a new idler wheel? A new drive wheel will be the best audible update you can make to the piece. Readily available, I believe.Well I took the motor apart and oiled the bearings and realized putting back together I could adjust the brass cone pictured that runs the idler and was able to get the speed right. Also got all the automatic turntable functions back and working. Feel free to move this post to the appropriate place thanks again
The idler rubber is soft. It looks like someone replaced it at some point. Someone buggered up the top screw on it so definitely been messed with. I found a company that makes new ones up in Canada. May get it in the future
