Yeah man, reset it all and start over again wit the new o2's. drive it for a while and let it settle. even the 96' 80 took a while to settle in after I only did the head, it was weird and actually had me scratchin' my head for a bit. slow learners/conservative I guess.

Wahooo!!!!! But sounds pricey
It was, but with that crazy parts deal last month. New toyota cats were only about $100 more each than the CA emissions cats.

I realize I should have taken a picture because I can’t post a video. I tested the AC for the first time in Fiona yesterday. About 2lbs of Glitter shot out of the vent. So, yea, I’ve been doing a lot of vacuuming... FML

Ugh, glitter, it makes it really hard to lie about where youve been.

Finally getting to the item I’ve been dreading the most. The previous previous owner drilled a hole in the roof to pass a wire through for his light bar.

I had my coworker Cooper laser cut me a 20ga filler circle.

I chamfered the hole with a 100deg chamfer until I had a impeccably flush fit. My other coworker Danny tigged it in place for me.

I was so focused on getting it done, I only took one f’ing photo.

Then there was a nice divot to fill from what I suspect was the force of the drill bit. I sanded and filled with a small amount of body filler.

I’m currently in painting phase waiting for the fist coat to dry.

I hate hate hate body work. I’m no good at it, and don’t enjoy it lol. I totally could have fixed that seam sealer booger, but I’d rather be able to wash my car tomorrow lol.

Looking good. Glade to see the old motor doing great with a rebuild.

I’ve spent about 20hrs troubleshooting an intermittent “no start” issue. After going through all of the diagnostic steps 3 times to condemn a starter. I finally pulled it… here’s what I found.

When I started the engine rebuild, I bought a Toyota remanufactured starter from Stevinson. Unfortunately my brain just wouldn’t let me condemn it, so I kept looking elsewhere. I finally pulled the “new” starter and found that during the Re manufacturing process, the rebuilder replaced the contacts, but not the plunger. This lead to very little contact and an intermittent no start.

I didn’t have a set of contacts on hand, so I put the old plunger in the lathe and carefully touched it up.

She starts like a dream.
