This is what they look like.
IIRC my 64 F had them and the 76 2f did not. neither does my 85BJ70 or the 91PZJ i put an hzj flywheel in. Proper torque and blue locktite.

There does seem to be a year when they stopped using them. There torqued properly but I didn't add loctite. It's a good idea. I'll pull them, add it, and retorque them.

Update.

Got warm enough in the garage that I got some work done. Distributor installed. Went easier than I was expecting. A little bit of engine assembly lube helped

I ended up having to get a new slave cylinder as the original was rusted and pitted inside.

New clutch components all the way around.

I probably did this wonky, but working alone it was easier to jimmy the trans assembly in this way. Got it seated on my second try after my daughter came out and asked for soup. The break was just enough to let the frustration wane.

The transfer case is running through all gears just like it should now. Looking forward to trying out the Orion.

And some new e-brake components via @JohnnyP

New brake lines going in as well.

I started rebuilding the brake cylinders, but again, they were too far gone. So some new ones went in. The drums had less than 15/1000ths but I was able to source some brand new Toyota Drums. Just waiting on the shoe hardware and the back breaks will be wrapped up.

You might want to get the new drums turned before sticking them on. I've had a bunch that came warped which resulted in a pulsing brake pedal after a complete overhaul. If you set one down hard it can warp. Or just send it and use as is.

I would never have guess that. I'll have them checked at Havana Machine. Thanks.

If anyone of you ever watch the 40 Channel on YouTube with the Steve Irwin of land cruisers, you'll understand the phrase I've had some dramas. But first, I spent some time on resurfacing the headers with ceramic from Eastwood. They came up pretty decent.

After that I rented a trailer from Uhaul. A one-way trip to get the body to the Rust Doctor over in GJ. It should have fit. It didn't fit. BTW, uhaul trailer dimensions are not the dimensions for the door opening.

Also the tub can be unwieldy. Another thing to note. The rule prohibiting taking the open trailers from U-Haul out of town isn't true, I learned after the fact. You can do it but it has to round trip. So that's the dramas. Eventually that body parts got to GJ, thanks 🙏🏼 Jason! Pictures on the rust doc work coming up.

Back from traveling to the East Coast. I got some small things done in the garage. The alternator is mounted, as are the intake, header, and City Racer Carb. I put all new exhaust and intake hardware in and followed the FSM to the letter, fingers crossed for no leaks.

I also got some updates from Jason today...
The structure under the rocker panel was ate up and had to be rebuilt with new panels made. Sanding and bodywork continue too. I have him the color code today too, so I should start seeing some paint go on next week or so.

It's worth noting that they make all their panels in 14ga steel so you get a little extra beef and support!

The best part of the rust doctor photos are all the other cruisers hiding in the background.

Looking good!

I am amazed you got in so fast. I was waiting a few months.

I was in the shop two weeks ago, I think I saw, maybe, the same Scout you spied in there. It was finished in an orange and looked better than new. It was quite a piece of art. So many fun projects happening.

What header are you running? Man-a-fre? Marks/Downey? Something else?
