The wife validated the hall pass this evening. I'm committed.

Awesome Corbet!!

Been going over the maps a bit more. Have a good plan of attack for our routes chasing the C&TS. The last day, when we chase it on the Antonito side, I want us to be at Whiplash Curve when the train starts coming up towards Osier. This will give us enough chances to chase and pose with the C&TS as it heads to the lunch stop. Hopefully with the Fall Colors crowd, it'll be going a bit slower than last year.

I'll start talking with Dan about getting a group reservation set up, maybe sometime end of this month.

Since outlaws is out this year I'm toying with the idea of extending my run a bit. Curious if anyone else is interested? Just camping in cool places and doing things a stock 80 can do (without losing plastic fenders).

I'm probably up for that. I have ideas on where to go too.

Dan

What are you guys thinking? I was thinking about Spanish Peaks on the way out, but could be convinced to roll in earlier too for some cool destinations. :thumb:

What is the initial meeting location going to be as I'm coming form the opposite direction as all you front rangers.

Depends on when you will arrive.

Plan on our campsite. Which is about 1 hour from Chama, maybe 30 minutes from Antonito. Right by Sublette on the line.

I'm planning on going early to establish our site and claim it early, in case other folks are up there. Also, because I need to get out and it's a great place to hang out.

That is off road #103? judging by Google Maps? Trying to determine my approach vector. Elwood pass might just be in my future.

Yes. It is off of Fdr103. You will take Hwy 17 to get to it if you take Elwood-->Platoro, or Wolf Creek Pass and then Antonito.

I'm getting excited about this trip. Installed some new springs today in preparation.

Me too! Just installed a new stereo system and will be pulling my rear springs in the next week to correct the cruiser lean issue, then installing the new 16" 70 series wheels and Toyo MT's !

All,

So I've decided it's best for me to ride along for this trip. With all that's happened this year, probably best for me to lay low, and enjoy the trip, and company. Any open seats? With that, my time off from work will be Wed to Sunday. I'll happily help with gas etc for a ride down/back.

I'll be solo but can't help you get there. The seat is open once on the trail.

Likewise Perry, I could pick you up in Denver, but you would need a ride back up as I was planning on a different route on the way back East. :thumb:

Getting excited for the run.

Thought,

Think it would be fun head into Chama one evening and check out/photograph the train yard as well as the town. Night shots of the trains warming up make for some fun images:cool:. Don't know if there's any better evening but something to think about. Heck, maybe we could get a tour of the shop......:bowdown:......
