Decided to give it a test drive. Wow that’s tasty. Similar to the 107 but more caramel and barrel notes. Has a thicker viscosity feel on the tongue.

This any good? I haven’t opened it yet.

Very sought after bottle. It’s hot but not as hot as you would expect for the full proof. Might need one rock instead of neat!

Bringing some rye to the game since I have been on a rye kick this year.

Recently enjoyed a bottle of Deerhammer Rye from BV. Pretty good stuff.

This week I took a shot in the dark on something new. This is finished in rum barrels. Normally I do not like an overly sweet whiskey, but this is subtle and fantastic. Balances very well with the rye. A big thumbs up!

Boulder Colorado getting some love when it comes to its bourbon,

That Blantons SFTB is some mighty fine drinking. I didn't know they now make it available in the US. When I used to travel to Poland for work back 10-12 years ago, I had a hook up with a Polish guy that had a bourbon blog, and he would get me 2 bottles of SFTB to bring back from each trip. I might have one left down in the bunker.

I would love to judge some Pappy on my own. We like a good Rye around these parts - Sazerac and Basil Hayden's Dark Rye are the nightcap right now. That Angel's Envy Rye is a thing of beauty.

I’ve got $30 bottles I like and I’ve got $150 bottles I like. Are they 5x better, no, however they are better. “Worth the price” is up to the individual. Generally I’d say no. But fun to try and in my case the liquor store is a good client, they give me a discount, and I like to buy from my client base. I don’t drink much beer anymore so when I pick up a bottle it’s generally something decent.

I like Rittenhouse for a very affordable good Rye.

I tend to stay near the 40 price point, and splurge occasionally. What a nice perk to gain through business for you! Keep the suggestions coming, sir. I'll be looking for Rittenhouse

Anyone interested in doing a Bourbon/Scotch/Whiskey Night at CM this year?

I'd be happy to host it at my campsite (horse arena area) with a campfire, music, snacks, ice and small sampler cups to share whatever bottle(s) people bring.

If enough interest, we can create another specific post to explore attendees interest. The only thing you'd need to bring is a bottle to share, folding chair and sufficient conversational skills to keep the night interesting, stories and lies work great.

Cigars optional.

I was at a "Rose Wine Tasting" last summer with Robin, it was fun. :) They had a silent auction table that was kind of being ignored. At the last minute I bid on all the whisky and bourbon and ended up with quite a haul. I will take some pics.

Nobody has mentioned Buchanan Whisky?! I always have a couple of bottles of the higher end stuff around. I was talking to the Buchanan folk at the Estes Park Celtic festival, and I think he said that Buchanan Whisky is the biggest seller in Latin America? I remember being on the L in Chicago years ago and on the train car I was on, EVERY ad on the walls was for Buchanan Whisky and every ad was in Spanish. I was a little confused at the time. They are now owned by Diageo.

Tim Buchanan :)

Buchanan is very popular with the Latin American market. Even here in Denver the buyers are heavily weighted to the Latin base. That said, Buchanan is a surprisingly good blended Scotch Whisky at a surprisingly good pricepoint. A good sipper for sure.

I'm definitely in for Bourbon night at CM! I'll pack a shareable bottle!

I've never seen this thread before, but it's right up my alley.
Love me some Bourbon!

Buffalo Trace is my go to mixing bourbon, it's pretty good in an old fashioned.
I have a bonded bottle of Laws that's Meh... I was underwhelmed with it TBH.
Tonight, I'm enjoying some Basil Hayden Red Wine Cask Finish, on the rocks.

Just picked up this 'beaut after a solid suggestion, and it's coming to Moab 😎.

Love a good Basil Hayden! We've had a few bottles of the Dark Rye recently. We take it neat with full essence of attitude
