do people not listen to me....2 bottles of heet on a half a tank of fuel.
I listened. Also changed oil like you said. Remembered my emissions gas cap. I passed. Dacono site rocks. 25 miles of highway to warm up. 55MPH frontage road. 2 AWD lanes. No lines. Happy days!

Few questions:
Which station did you take it to?
Did Slee do your rebuild?
During the rebuild did you replace all of sensors or cats? Your NOx levels are super low.

I took it to the Dacono station. They don't give me problems running 35 inch tires.Few questions:

Slee did the rebuild, and as part of it we replaced the O2 sensors.
The CATs are 4 years old and OEM.
I have passed my last 3 tests but I am always nervous when I have to take it in. I don't have to test until April so I keep driving through the road sides to see if I can get lucky and not have to take it in to test. My checked engine light has been on for the last few months for a code 71 EGR. I changed out the VSV, modulator and the EGR temp sensor. Hopefully this will work to completely remove the check engine light. I was right near the NOx limit last time I passed.
It's always a stressful thing to get an 80 to pass emissions. We'll keep our fingers crossed and hope you pass.
Try registering your rig in Strasburg. That solved my problem
So I had a long day of emissions testing. Got up early to change the oil and take everything heavy out of the truck. Cleaned the air filter and the PCV valve. Put two bottles of ketchup heat in the tank and put about a half tank of premium gas in. Drove up to dacono to the testing station and I was turned away due to the size of my tires (315 75r 16). I was given a vehicle unable to test form and told the only station I could test at that was closest to me was in Sheridan. So I had to drive all the way to Sheridan and test down there. Got down to there and I was failed on the gas cap but I also failed on CO and NOx. The readings were not super high just enough to bust. What can I do to get those numbers down?

Cap and rotor is about 5 years old. Plugs and wires about a little over two years old. I replaced the entire exhaust from the headers all the way back two years ago. I went with Toyota down pipes, Y pipe and tail pipe. I did after market with the resonator and cats. I bought bosal cats which may be the issue. I just didn't have 1500 for Toyota cars. The CEL is clear no issues. Slee worked some magic for me on my EGR system. Kept throwing a code 71.
Put little tires on and try the exact same thing. There are some emission tires running around somewhere.

Your problem is classic Cat problem, Ignition issues would drive up the CO but high NOx has cat written all over it. Getting the cats really hot is the key! I have a full set of 97 80 wheels and stock tires your welcome to borrow, that's what they are for. I'm in Louisville. When I had the 6 in my 80 I actually installed flanges on the exhaust pipe on both sides of the converters and swapped the high flows out for some inexpensive (relatively) universal OE replacement cats just for the test. Unfortunately, the standards we now have to meet are stricter than the 80 series was designed to achieve.
Right on, thanks Uncle Ben. That was my concern using aftermarket cats when I installed them. I'm out to golden today to pick up a new gas cap at least from Stevenson. I'll PM you to see when would be a good time for you to pick up the emissions tires. Thanks again.
