Studded snow tires came off in favor of the summer M/T’s
Holycow Andy, you look 20 years younger!
I'd like to begin this post by asking: Why me? Have I done something to deserve punishment? Am I here to suffer from stupidity eternally?🥲
Anyway...🙄 started my front end refresh beginning with sway bar everything. Everything was going smooth until the last f***ing bolt sheared (see pic I doused it in PB before I tried removing). Now I think I am going to have to phone a friend and get a nut welded on top.

This is the perp🤬 I couldn't access it because #ih8torsionbars. I am going to be running no sway bar in the front till this is fixed. Any tips on not rolling my truck (slightly joking)?
Here's what my sway links looked like after 220k:View attachment 94891
As part of my project to replace bushings everywhere, I worked on a couple of the D bushings for the front sway bar. On the 100 this is kinda a pain since it is right underneath the wonderful torsion bar. First one went pretty smooth, but on the PS bracket a bolt snapped off. With cold and snow on the way I attacked it this morning marking and dropping the torsion bar. Drilled out the broken bolt and retapped the frame. With the torsion bar out it was very easy to put the bushing back on and reattach everything. One of those operations that actually went exactly how I planned it.
This is the most significant shaved face difference picture I’ve ever seen. Insane. Are you sure that’s not somebody else? What did your wife and kids say?!

I was also going to mention about rolling that lots of folks run with no front sway bar on the 100. Maybe not too important since you are already somewhat travel limited? Now I have had a rear link break on trail before and driving on the highway with my rear disconnected was quite noticeable.I have driven my 100 without a front sway for almost 2 years after that same bolt broke on me. It is the bolt that is under the AC drain line so it rusts really bad. I still have the body of the bolt sized in that same location. The truck is much better off road in my opinion without the sway. The ride is smoother.
Another (albeit janky) option someone has posted on mud was to break the bolt that is welded on the top of the bracket free with a chisel and then just use and nut and bolt for that bolt location on the bushing.
I have my front sway bar removed. You definitely have to adjust your driving when on the highway. Once you get used to it you can compensate for the extra body roll. Braking into corners is the main concern from my expirience. If I plan to take a trip that is not going to see dirt, I will put it back on. I haven't had it on but once in the last 4 years.I was also going to mention about rolling that lots of folks run with no front sway bar on the 100. I went for a test drive to see how the dynamics changed last night. Your experience is spot on. braking and turning at speeds greater than 40 is where I noticed the body roll. Honestly though it still drives like a land cruiser🤷♂️I have my front sway bar removed. You definitely have to adjust your driving when on the highway. Can you feel the tiniest breeze from across a room when somebody drops a feather now?!
Did some fitment testing on the all new 18' Sicilian storage compartment. Nice platform for some other gear too.
