Found a handful of metal chips in my transfer case this weekend! Jackson and I did a refurbish on it originally because of bad leaks... But we seemed to catch it right in time. One bushing was far gone and knocked everything out of spec and ate a oil slinger. Luckily Jackson had a spare available for sale! Steve helped seal more leaks by replacing my side cover gasket and swapping a new fuel pump in. Three people and a garage are way more productive than one.

How are they different from the old K/Os?

Mine seem to be great! Way bigger block pattern than the old ones. I had mine siped and they have been doing great in the dirt and snow. Although, I've knocked them off the rim twice at 16psi. Stock cruisers rims though, so hard to blame.

Jeff,

They say its a whole redesign. Tread, to sidewall, rubber, 3D sipes, and more.

I got mine on Thursday. Went to Summit County Saturday, A-Basin Sunday, and around town today. Already they are the best snow and ice tire I have ever had. Better than the old BFG I ran for years, and the Terra Grappler, and the Duratrac (which I still loved). They just stick.

Slightly harsher ride than the Duratracs. I have them at 35 PSI for now.

I have had the KO2's since November. They are WAY better than the old KOs, as said. Amazing in the snow. I can't believe how well they stick.

They have the same KO issues of weight and ride: They are heavy and ride harsh.

I've yet to have them offroad.

The tread is similar in pattern, but the outer lugs have been redesigned. They have WAY more siping than the old ones. Hence the better traction on ice and snow (I did not have mine siped).

90lbs?? That must include the wheel as a Swamper Irok of the same size weighs about 62 lbs. Time to upgrade the suspension now to keep up with the tires!

I was immediately impressed with them right out of the box. :thumb: I tried to do a doughnut in the parking lot on the snow and ice and they didn't budge. I'm really happy with them. They seem to have a nice smooth ride and stick to the road like glue. I'd definitely give them 5 stars so far. I haven't gotten to take them off-road yet.

Mine are in 315/75/16 And they are freaking HUGE! Each one weighs 90 pounds.

They didn't budge on ice? They must have that secret Days of Thunder compound that Cole Trickle used to pass on the outside of turn 3!

We're doing an ongoing long-term review of the new BFG in OutdoorX4. Seems like a good one so far, but this no-slip on the ice thing is a game changer. ;)

Tire rack.Com has the 315 listed at 66 lbs per tire.

Supposedly tires like BFG A/Ts have molded in siping and don't need the cut siping. Please elaborate on why these need the siping machine?

I like the old school BFG A/Ts, they are among the better winter tires I have run. I have found that newer technology (like my Goodyear Duratracs) combine better tread patterns with improved compounds. I wonder if these new BFG A/Ts also may have better compounding than the old school ones that were good for the first 10-15k and then turned into rolling wooden blocks?

My apologizes, I misread the first post and thought everybody was talking about the "new" Mud Terrains K02's

LOL. Yeah it gets confusing. We are talking about the KO2's, which are the brand new All Terrain tire. The mud terrains are the KM2's.

Its taken me a bit and I still say the wrong designation when talking about the tires myself :D

Fixed the driver's window on the 100...silicone in the tracks fixed it right up...after I had removed the door panel twice to figure it out. Didn't think it would be that easy!

Also removed and cleaned the power steering hoses and put in new clamps, hopefully will fix the slight leak. Also refilled with Mobil 1 ATF, I had forgotten about that and had put regular power steering fluid in!

Also general cleaning and PM, getting ready to install a lift a skid plates next week in preparation for the CM pre-run!! :D

This past weekend I got my dual battery installed, u-bolt flip kit in the front, new parking brake cable, bled the brakes, adjusted rear shoes, cleaned up lots of wiring, rebuilt the carb, new dome light (Now it comes on when the doors open!) Bent up my rear quarter armor, and made plans for bobbing the rear quarters. Productive weekend. Last night I finally started on my front bumper build!
