new starter in the 100, want to make sure Ty is ok this summer.

and apparently when the 100 was sitting in Moab for 2 years, it was a hotel for some mice. Been driving it for 3 years since then with no issues.,,, 79f9866d-efec-4842-88a2-dcb189c6fce2.jpge336a621-1a31-40b2-aa4c-9476692cd66c.jpgd7826fca-99d9-4591-80c2-fc915cea851a.jpg

Spent the day yesterday giving the new troopy a buff and wax. Removed the roof rack to gain access to get the roof cleaned and waxed and plan to freshen up the rack by changing out all the rusted nuts and bolts with new hardware before reinstalling.

Just a thing of beauty Mike.

Maybe @LARGEONE will begrudge me that. :p

Because I can never seem to leave things alone... I’ve changed things up on the Honey Badger. Again.
Made a full length low profile roof rack basket and relocated the spot lights to the front bumper so they’re actually usable without glaring into my windshield. I’m still not 100% sure on the position of the lights. I tried 4 or 5 different configurations and landed on this. I’ll probably run it for the season and then reevaluate this winter.
But mobbing through the Utah desert this past fall at night was a hard reminder of why lights right above the windshield are not a good idea. So I knew I needed to change it up.

My SPC upper control arm spit out a ball yesterday, so now I can get them replaced. Luckily it happened just as I was leaving for work and made to the front of the house before it fell out. Managed to get the ball joint back in the socket and tied down with a ratchet strap and get it into the back yard.

I picked up a 1995 FZJ75 factory locked troopy back at the end of March. It came to the states from SE Turkey. It is a low milage rust free example of what a bunch of the world got but we never did. I had been looking for a 70 series to add to my collection for the past couple of years and could not pass up this one. I drove it home 1450 miles with no issues. I plan to have it at the expo this weekend if you would like to look it over.

Reader's Digest condensed story which used to be in the online part of Toyota Trails but has somehow disappeared: In 2000 a guy in Calgary had a Land Cruiser business and a pending divorce drove him to sell most of his fleet to pay of his soon-to-be ex. I bought his crown jewel: a 1997 HZJ75 pickup. It was a mine truck with a custom mine bed made of 3/8 steel that weighed more than a ton. It was too new (3 years old) to legally import so I drove it on the seller's Alberta plates, which he renewed for me every year. I wheeled that truck at Cruise Moab 2001, 2002, and 2003 and managed to break something every year. In 2004 he got his finances back in order and wanted the truck back, as I had promised I would sell it back to him if he wished. I explained that I had kind of gotten used to having a Land Cruiser pickup truck as they're handy to haul stuff, so he got me a bone stock 1978 FJ45 and we traded even-steven. That's how I got my 45

It's what has my money done for me, and well, today turned out to be a good day for me, thanks to Johnny P. and Josh.

The crew reassembled my rig with a lot of new parts. Rebuilt 2F, H55F, Dobinson's lift, the list is endless at this point. I'm going to enjoy it. Here it is. Here's the motor running:

I might have shed a happy tear seeing this. Capriblue45, there's that air rail you sold me :)

Mechanically, it should be as sound as it gets, not that it wasn't before, but now, forget about it.

Finally got around to installing the awning hinge mounts that I purchased from @nakman at the expo. It drops my awning 2" but more importantly it stores over the rack so I won't have to be so careful on tight tracks. Thanks for the great product Tim.

And then there was light…they all work now! And the cig lighter. I did the led swap in the cluster, it’s a little bright without a dimmer, but definitely good to use. There’s two sneaky white bulbs I gotta swap still 🤪 there’s one tiny bulb that’s different than the others in the cluster at 110km/h and I didn’t think to check the rear tank gauge. I did notice that the main fuel tank gauge is always “on” and with new bulbs it thinks it’s empty when it’s not-empty warning light is always on. 🤔
