Uhmw snow plow blades, who has, or is currently using one? What's your experience like?
After paving our driveway this past spring, I have been looking at less abrasive options for the plow. When the driveway was gravel, I used a section of pvc pipe that was slit the long way wrapped around the blade. This worked decently, but needed to be replaced often. I figure this wouldn't be the best option on asphalt.
From research, it seems like most people using the uhmw blades like them. Especially when using them on different surfaces. Since half my driveway is concrete and the other half is asphalt, and our road which I maintain is also asphalt, I figured I would try one out.
Instead of buying a premade one, I decided to make my own. Cut a 6" wide x 72" long section of .500" thick uhmw and drilled the neccessary mounting holes. Then used the old worn down metal blade to pinch the uhmw between the plow and itself for added strength.

Weird to say, but am hoping for a decent amount of snow in this next system so I can try it out.
