I'd say getting started around 8:30-9:00. Hoping to get on the trail about 9:30. I'm guessing that we may run into other groups

I noticed that there was a time set aside for "paperwork". Is there some way I/you could show prospective trail leaders how to properly fill out the insurance wavers? In the past, there are 3 trail leaders who fill these out properly.

That was the reason behind my email... I've got your back.

Boys, I even got my wheeling stuff unpacked from my move last weekend and had the truck pretty much ready to go only to be laid low at the last minute with the plague. 102 fever and can hardly get out from under the blankets. I'm out, sorry.

It looks like all systems are go for me. The truck is packed and waiting outside of my office. I plan to leave the Golden area about noon. Hopefully I'll get to Buena Vista early enough to keep working on my misbehaving parking brake cable :-)

If I can make it out, it'll be Sunday morning. I'd like to listen to Dave's radio class if I can make it.

From the training a few months back at the club meeting, two things that I don't currently have in my trail kit were mentioned. They are: a spill kit and a tool to reset a bead on a tire. What are the preferred/recommended brands for these tools? I want to add them to the kit I keep in my truck for this summer.

Spill kits can be purchased pre packaged from many online vendors. Quick google search: http://greenstateservices.com/SpillKits.aspx?gclid=CMbx7pGz8csCFQmSaQodDLIF3Q

Or you can build your own. I carry a Nalgene bottle full of oil absorb, roll of blue paper shop towels, and some garbage bags. I've heard of baby diapers wrapped around a leaking pinion to catch the "droppings".

Trail leaders are of course issued one in the morning for the day along with the other stuff.

For the beed reset I carry a CO2 tank on the trail and that is my main reason for that over a 12v compressor. Some WD40 and a ratchet strap are helpful too. I have a pair of cheap tire irons in my tool kik too. http://t.harborfreight.com/automoti.../24-inch-general-purpose-tire-iron-93230.html

In most cases I'd just have the person install their spare rather than screw with the beed. Comes down to the situation.

Speaking of garbage bags, a couple of times now they have come in handy for me when working on broken pinions where you have to drain all the 90wt to get inside the diff. Basically use them the same you would a plastic bucket. Much more compact than a bucket in the back of your rig!
