Yes and no. Do a completed listing search on ebay. There are "sold" listings far higher, and some lower. Being able to see one in person outside of the auction, is a HUGE advantage. Original paint means no bondo, so what you see is what you get.
78 was a good year. Fine spline diffs with 4:10 gears, disks, 2F, 4spd. Not the elusive 1983, but a great year none the less.

Maybe - but someone might buy it at that price. So hard to find a truly unmolested specimen. It's hard to see, but that may even have the air pump still in place. That's what I love about mine - it has rust and has been repainted, but no one has cut it up, pulled it apart, or added a bunch of questionable wires and hoses to it.
It does seem to have the traditional rust spots, and that rear sill might be the worst of it (but not as bad as mine was/is). It would be worth checking the bottoms of the doors, the floor boards, and below the doors for additional hidden rust if you are really interested. If he doesn't sell it, then you might have some option to negotiate.
