1973 Fj-40 All Original

Since the bezel is on correctly, I believe we should buy it as a club. Then raffle it off to ourselves. One hundred members, fifty dollars each (for one raffle ticket), should equal $5000. I'm in, how about you? That, my friends, will make for one awsome lodge meeting.

I also have a 1977 FJ40 that I am considering selling. It has not been started since summer of 2007 when I left for Afghanistan. It wouldn’t turn over after sitting for a year, so I pushed it into the back of the garage (thinking I was going to rebuild it) and haven’t messed with it since. It has a 4” OME lift, Weber 32/36 carb, Man-a-fre header and exhaust, Detroit locker in rear, 33x12.5 BFGs on 10” steel rims, but the tires are old. Soft top and soft doors included but it’s probably missing some minor parts. No hard top. Pictures at https://picasaweb.google.com/john.p....eat=directlink. The truck is in the garage under a pile of stuff, so pictures are limited, but I can take more for a serious inquiry. It has tow bar mounts on the bumper and I’ll include the tow bar, so it will be easy to flat tow it. I also have an extra set of FJ40 axles which I will throw in with the truck, but will also sell separately if someone wants them. Looking for $2500 for the FJ40, soft top, tow bar, and extra axles.

I also have the original rims for both trucks if anyone is interested.

Well, you know what they say, if its too good to be true it probably is. I have a hard time figuring out what this means too:
The vehicle is worth signifigantly more than I am selling it for, it blue books for 8,500 dollars and I am selling this one for 6,500 obo because I dont wanna just give it away

I didn't think there were 80 series sold domestically in 98....
32 valve v6 I think that works out to 5.3 valves per cylinder.

Well, you know what they say, if its too good to be true it probably is. I have a hard time figuring out what this means too:

I'd have to agree with Coax!

This is definitely a '97-80 series not a '98-100 series and the "owner" seems to know very little about his truck. Mileage isn't exceptionally low either. I wouldn't be surprised if this guy actually owns the truck as the title an tags are TX! Thus he can sell it at any price he wants if he doesn't really own it........

Too much wrong info listed to be credible IMHO.

BEWARE RS Forum! If it sounds too good to be true.....It usually is!

I know it has front end damage and does not have diff locks. I dont know if it has the 1fze or the 3fe. but if it has the 1fze it would be worth it.

1993 would be OBD1 1fze

As for whether it would be worth it? Depends on what you need off of it but for the engine, I would say no. I would look for an OBDII (95+ IIRC) 1fze

Called and talked to the guy, does not know what the axles are from. He said late 80's to early 90's toy PU.

He said he had it all but it was spoken for....
