This one was submitted by a friend of mine via text message:

“There's a yellow land cruiser for sale up here in Lafayette, Jim. I know it’s outside of Boylan’s collision service or something like that on highway 7. It’s more squished than yours is, like lengthwise.”

I confirmed it was a 40 by sending photos. It’s at Bolyard’s Collision on Baseline Rd, just east of Public Rd. Anybody know the story or get a visual on it?

Didn't get a photo but saw what must have been a 1996-1997 RHD Prado KZJ95. It was the rounder body style that started in 96, but it had to have been at least 25 years old to import. Seen downtown near Broadway and Blake. Anybody seen one of those around?

I have not seen one in real life here in the states. Should start seeing more of them now that they’re turning 25. 👍🏼

I saw a new dark grey hilux go right in front of my house in unicorporated adams county yesterday, it's the second time I've seen one on my street....I didn't get a pic this time but here's the first

Not as cool but I saw a 90s Renault Clio with Chihuahua plates a few weeks ago.

Also, supposedly the guy that bought my 02 Tacoma was taking it to Chihuahua for use as a ranch truck. I hope it's enjoying its life out to pasture down there.

Ran into this guy and his 40 at Harbor Freight on Hampden yesterday. He said his aunt bought it new and requested the dealer repaint the exterior spring green (originally rustic green) before taking delivery. I don't know about that. In any case it was an original survivor for sure (ODO at 900 miles, so 100,900 likely) with minimal visible bondo, original motor, original springs, decent interior.

Here you can see the exterior and interior paints are different:

Such a critic! That paint job may have been done in 1969. In theory if the story is true, anyway. Imagine the hail storms and dirty arms that it's seen.
1972 from what I was told. I've never heard of a "dealer option" paint job. Unless this was a one off because a cranky person REALLY wanted a different color and that was the only way to make the sale. That's also one of the doubts I have - it seems like paint from 1972 would be in much worse shape. The minor peeling I see seems like it's 15-20 years old.

I could be very, very wrong though.

I'm just saying I would have pulled the window gasket, rather than try to mask under it. And I would have at least lightly sanded that top edge, to get rid of the dirty arm grease, so it didn't flake like that. I'da probably also tried to talk her out switching to spring green also. And shoot, it's not that much more work to paint the other side of the door.
