1972 from what I was told. I've never heard of a "dealer option" paint job. Unless this was a one off because a cranky person REALLY wanted a different color and that was the only way to make the sale. That's also one of the doubts I have - it seems like paint from 1972 would be in much worse shape. The minor peeling I see seems like it's 15-20 years old.

I could be very, very wrong though.

Yes, that's definitely a 1972. 1972 was the first year without the chrome hood ornament, and last year before buckets and roll bar.
