We have a semi local company laying fiber in our subdivision now. Looks like I might be dumping my Starlink for a faster more affordable physical connection.

Agreed! I actually quit paying for the Garmin InReach as I just wasn't using it... don't need it at CM as one is provided to you (and already set up for them to track locations, which is pretty cool) and don't need it for remote mapping as their mapping is terrible, not nearly as good as what can be pre-downloaded in Gaia, OnX, etc. So then I was down to texting my family once a year while backpacking... only to realize the other guys I was with were just able to do that on their phones now, which I can do. So it has become completely useless to me.I was pretty annoyed when I got this email. I only have my service activated 2-3 months per year during camping season, and paying $5/month for the rest of the year was low enough it didn't bother me. But paying $10/month then having to activate the service along with having to activate my Garmin InReach service and paying money for something I have never needed is getting old. Sure it's great peace of mind, but the cost and complexity of it all is fatiguing.
