Black Friday is almost here. UB and Chili are just worried about making a good impression at the mall this year.

Hey Root!

Are you planning on putting aftermarket Bumpers on your new 80? If so, are the stock ones on your truck now in good shape & would you like to sell them when the time comes? My wife's 96 80 (also all white) came with color matched bumpers. She prefers the black end caps to the white ones she has now, so she wants me to find her some other ones. So far, I haven't been able to convince her to get some hard core bumpers... But if you are looking to unload them down the road, please keep me in mind. It could help defray the cost of your other mods.

Thanks,
Abe

I believe they have all been scratched prior to me owning it but you are welcome to them if they are good enough

OK, so 'splain what's up with the temperature gauge.
Is it like mine, where it goes from 'cold' to 'middle of the range' about the time I back out of the garage, in 2.4 milliseconds? Is that what you fixed?
Looking into this some more for the combination gauges in my truck. I have a few part numbers, see if this jives with anything.
  • 1FZ temp sender is 83420-16040
  • 3F-E, 22R-E, 3VZ temp sender is 83420-16010 (superseeded to 83420-20020)
  • I think the 5VZ temp sender is 83420-16020
So if anyone's done the 50 and 110 ohm resistor mod on a 1991 or 1992 FJ80, then the same modification will work on 22R-E and 3VZ trucks. If the temp sender on Red Chili's engine drives your dash gauge to the same spot as with the old engine, then it's probably got a similar profile. Anyone have an extra 83420-16010 temp sender? We can verify it's response and either do the same values or adjust them slightly to the right profile.

Ok, fine, here is some more functional stuff. Jerry at Boulder Toyota as well as UB, sourced me all kinds of fun stuff. It's fun to give UB your credit card and tell him to just buy stuff he thinks you need. The big box is one of them fancy radiator fan, A/C thingies.
