One more..

and here's a thread that gives lots of reasons for never transporting a tank on its side http://www.rvnetwork.com/index.php?showtopic=104109

That would be my alternate method, as I've done that before just strapped it to the rack on top. But sounds like that's an even worse idea... :(

Hey Tim, I see a big problem with the way it sticks out to the side. on tight trails you will hit tree limbs or even trees on off camber spots. I have my axe and shovel mount on my roof rack mounted tight to the rack and have lost the shovel several times catching branches even with quick fist clamps. just a thought seeing that. Dan

basketball hoop?

What I really like is the mobile nerf basketball hoop he's got on the other side. you only see the back of it.

Thread revival.

I’ve got a 5lb Manchester propane tank I want to mount on my swing arm. There are plenty of commercial brackets from $100-300 on the market which is pretty hard to swallow. Anyone have any new good ideas for mounting since 2014? My goal is this tank with two Jerry cans opposite my 37” spare. Things will be tight. tank is 8” diameter with a 6.5” ring at the bottom.

I don't get it. I'm never going to abandon my little green cans... seriously. I toss a few of them in a plastic case on the roof rack along with other cooking items for trips, another 1 or 2 are always in the drawer, I've been running the same dozen or so in circulation now for at least 4-5 years, just refilling them. All my stoves use the little green cans, if I allow them to fill overnight they're as full as they were new, and for about $1/can. Plus I don't have another project to do before heading out, same reason I don't like CO2 tanks, and won't run one of those again. Only thing I can't do is run a fireplace for more than an hour or so without swapping tanks... usually that's more than enough. change my mind!

The tall skinny aluminum tank is OLAF and the price reflects. I'll pass on that. I've already got this tank just want it out of the interior of my truck. My Partner Steel stove connects direct and would need an adapter to fit the little green coleman cans. Same with fire pit.

I still run a CO2 tank until I do the York set up. But at least that can run a keg as well. That was sweet at Blue Notch years back.

Here is what I ended up with..... Its a 10lb tank mounted in a Powertank holder, bolted to some structure added to the Slee bumper.
