Further West into the Upper Missouri River Breaks. A Ferry crossing, a delicious burger in Winifred, we've been there before, some mts with a Mountain Lion, and the Little Bighorn Battlefield. It's still just as long a drive home as it is to get up there.
After gassing up in Hay's, Mt, we continued west on the Northern end of the River Breaks. Mostly open dirt roads. With some old ranches here and there to explore.
The McClellan-Stafford Ferry. One of only three Ferry's left on the Missouri. It's maintained by the county's. Talking with the Ferry operator, sounds like they only get 5-6 cars a day. We were rush hour. Way cool.
Within all the private land in the Judith Mts, we were able to find some state land. About a 1/4 mile before the road to this camp, Jackson spotted a Mountain Lion along the road. Once at camp, we'd find dead animal bones and fur scattered about.
We stayed in Sheridan for the night. A nice bed and shower felt good after camping all week. After a night on the town, we stopped to check out the local display before continuing south.
