It should look familiar as it was suggested early on, it just took me awhile to get them to a price that I was willing to pay for an 02.

All timing belt concerns on Toyota's are usually overblown if they are using Asin/Toyota (Spell) parts. I saw a Asin timing belt on a Tacoma that was never changed until 300,000 miles. It was truly unbelievable. The belt wasn't cracked and showed no signs it was going to break. That being said, Toyota seems to recommend 90K on those, not sure what a 100 series belt is suppose to be. There must be some sort of fudge factor they have with those belts, I wonder what it is.
90k interval on the 2UZ as well. There are very very few documented cases of valve damage from a broken timing belt on the 2UZ as well. There are several people in the 100 community who also choose not to replace the timing belt.

I know for fact the water pump fails usually before the belt. And to take the water pump off of my engine, you might as well replace the belt at the same time with a bunch of other stuff.

Another nOOb quesiton...how do I mark this as found. I hate wasting folks time.
From the menu at the bottom of the original post select “edit” and then in the title change the “wanted” flag to “found”

That looks like a killer rig. Nice work!!!

Thank you! Let me see if I can figure out the edit. For some reason, it doesn't seem to appear for me on the first post. Maybe because someone liked the post?

Congratulations on the new rig! It looks great! If you don’t mind me asking what is the price paid on the Slee receipt for? Seems like a lot of money for skid plates!😁
Glad you found one “that is mostly stock”!!!🤣

Johnny,

The receipt covers pretty much all the preventive maintenance and modifications (front and rear ARB lockers) and everything you see. It's only had 6k miles put on since the work was done.

And.... nowhere near stock, but I had a buddy who worked and Slee and is quite confident in their work. Given the documented maintenance, I am excited to have something that I shouldn't need to mess with much....until I start wheeling and break shi.... stuff.

Okay got it. Thanks.

Your rig is what my rig wants to be when it grows up!
