If the seller insists on the license deal maybe one of the local RS members with a license could pick it up for you  - I wonder, if you were to go into HRO would they not sell you a radio without a license? Guess I never checked/asked

It's not illegal to own a radio or listen. It's illegal to Transmit without a license. HRO will sell a radio to someone unlicensed. You often learn the most about Ham if you listen.

Thanks...That's what I thought and remember from the classes - I know many, myself included, had radios before our licenses to listen in and start getting comfortable with the flow...I wasn't sure if something changed or if I was remembering wrong :hill:

I was wondering about that as I thought that while I wait to take the test, if on a trail i could hear the HAM chatter and relay it to the CB'ers. I might have to hole of on this as I just bought my Echo Pass and that killed the funds for this, but thanks everyone for the feed back.

P.S. Echo Passes now come with 3 days at Sunlight and 3 at Ski Cooper, $179

Ham Radio Lot ICOM IC-7000 ICOM Digital 92AD Kenwood D710A APRS - $400 (Englewood)
Moving and need to sell equipment ASAP. I have 3 like brand new and and very few hour use radios. First one is a ICOM IC-7000 All band All mode rig. It includes the radio, mic, power cord, mounting bracket, remote face cable and manual. You all know this radio and what a super radio it is!!!!!!!! No issues and ready for someone to enjoy. I am asking only 850.00. Next radio is a ICOM Digital HT. IC-92AD. This sale includes the radio, power charger and upgraded diamond antenna. I am only asking 350.00 for it. The last radio I am selling it my KENWOOD D710. It is an excellent dual band radio with APRS. This sale will include the radio, remote face cable, mic, mounting bracket, power cord and an added GPS unit for APRS. I am asking 400 for the radio as it is by far the best dual band aprs radio and are getting hard to get used as everyone loves them. I would not sell any of these radios except I need the money for added down payment on the new house for my family. Thanks for looking and let me know if you want to work a deal on 1 or all the radios.
Icom IC7000 = $850
Icom IC-92AD = $350
Kenwood TM-D710 = $400

Hey Dave,
I would be interested in the Kenwood D710A. How do I get in touch with the gentleman?

Not a great price (HRO has it new at $490, so with tax you'd save about $125). But a neat radio and having D-STAR would be cool.

Icom ID-880H Ham Radio - $400 (Summit)

An Icom ID-880H 2m/70cm D-STAR ham amateur radio mobile transceiver. Almost new condition. Never used mobile. With box and all standard accessories.

This guy is a vintage rig, probably pretty stylin' when it was new in the early 1980s. It's all solid state and they did have a VFO rotary encoder issue, so check it for function before. But at $125, if it works fine, this is an OK little radio. The display will go wacky if it has an issue, it's pretty obvious. Sometimes cleaning fixes it, sometimes not.

One thing to know, the power supply for this radio was dedicated to it. The power regulation was done inside the radio, not the power supply, so this is a matched pair. You could use any power supply with the radio itself, just that the power supply puts out about 19V AC (IIRC) and so it would not be useful with anything else.

ICOM IC-701 HF Transceiver with power supply - $125 (Longmont)\

ICOM IC-701 Transceiver, IC-701PS. Original packing materials, mike, power cables, boxed in dry environment last 15 years. Operating manual. Ham radio, amateur radio.
