Yaesu FT-51R Dual Band Ham Radio HT - $200 (S. Suburban Denver)

This radio is in near new, excellent condition as can been seen from the pics and works perfectly. Specs and reviews are available on the web, but suffice it to say that the radio "does it all" and then some. It comes with Yaesu dual band antenna, CA-9 charging stand, an FNB-33X 4.8V, 2100 Mah low power, high capacity battery which will operate the radio for days, an NC-28B 8.7V charger, an E-DC-12 Mobile DC Adapter/Charger which allows 5W power output when mobile while charging the battery. The Operators Manual is also included. The radio has had the extended Rx/Tx mod performed.

Offered price for this pristine radio and accessories is $200 cash. Feel free to contact me with questions.

Some nice rigs and his prices are pretty dang fair. Someone should definitely look at the TS-140, TS-430, IC-229, IC-28 and RS-35!

The Dentron is a 1kW linear that uses four 572B triodes, also a fair price but with the expectation that it'll need some TLC most like to the tune of I'd guess about $250. So for ~$500 that would be a very nice power amp that when you're done would be capable of roughly an easy 1.25kW.

Yeasu ATAS-120A

I came across an ATAS-120A on Craigslist a few weeks ago and was going to buy it until the fella found it had failed. He was very polite about it and did not feel comfortable selling it at any price (I asked if he would sell it cheaper) until he figured out the problem.

He dropped me an email this morning and said he'd figured out what happened and repaired & rebuilt the antenna. Turns out the motor had failed, he bought a factory replacement from Yeasu and it checks out fine again. Problem is that things changed for me and I no longer am in the market for this (I actually found another one) and I am not buying it.

So I am passing it along because the ham was very easy to deal with and upfront. His name is Scott, NØOBA. His email is n0oba1@comcast.net. He is using it with an Icom radio with an external controller, but is designed to interface directly with the Yeasu FT-857 and FT-897 with no additional hardware.

As a side note, I really like this antenna with my FT-857. It is very convenient. I thought seriously about the Tarheel and Groucho's Hi-Q, but in the end the Yeasu won out. Is it quite as good as the bigger boys? Nope, but it's a whole lot easier to use IMHO and looks a lot less offensive to the XYL in front of whom it's mounted out on the ARB. It really is less obviously a screwdriver antenna.

That is exactly what I want to put on the 40. If everything works and is there it's a good deal. The timing is not right for me however.

That's a  looking rig...I need something for the 40 but I don't think that would hold up well in a FJ40 environment...

Yeah, probably not a great choice for a FJ40. Paging Jacket! Add a Bytronics Tinytrac with GPS and you have most of a FTM-350 for about $250 less. No Bluetooth or wideband FM (broadcast) RX.

The current FT-60R is about $225, give or take. So this is not a fantastic deal if it needs a new battery, although since the original was NiCad and you can get NiMH replacements for about $30 it wouldn't be too bad if you talked him down. Also the FT-50R could take a 6 x AA holder and run (IIRC) the full 5W. So if you found that holder you could just use rechargeable AA cells and not worry about the custom pack.

Dual band amateur radio - $150 (Monument)

Yaesu FT-50R dual band hand held transceiver. This radio is practically new. Comes with a 4 AA Clamshell, car charger and the home charger. The regular batt needs to be renewed because it does not hold a charge.

Please call or Txt Tim with any questions. 719-290-3800.
