This thread gave me the motivation to build the work bench I’ve wanted in our “new” house that we’ve been in for over a year now. When we moved in I had an immediate turbo issue to deal with, and then came differential swaps, front axle, driveshaft, steering, and other engine projects so I didn’t really have the time/energy to build. I’ve been getting by with tools on top of my tool box base and the table saw but that needed to stop. Once I get it cleaned up maybe I can take a better picture but I made good progress today. 30” deep, 10’ long, 42” high to clear the Husky tool box underneath.

Next step I think is to build a home set of tools separate from my truck set of tools. Right now they are one and the same, which makes it hard to stay organized when I have to empty out and dig through my truck toolbox every time I need something.

What dimensions are other peoples work benches? @Romer?

Dude that’s awesome. Glad this post was motivational. I’m still working on my stuff. I made a small bench and have a lot a shelf space that I may convert into more work space.

Really big toolbox, twice the size you think you need and try to find some drawers at a scrap yard or auction. And definitely a dedicated beer fridge.

You still won't have enough room tho
