This song is dedicated to our federal government. We're all facing tough times but we'll pull through it and we'll be better on the other side.

LOL Haven't you given enough? Now you give them our song dedications too!?

I know someone used this line already, but frequent listener first time caller. After seeing the video of all those people in Italy singing black sabbath on lockdown I have been on a kick. I play bass and the solo off N.I.B. is

Then I got on a metal kick, which means I have been listening to Judas Priest for the better part of an afternoon

And finally some new sounds. Found this one in my recommendations this morning, much more chilled than above lol:

Friday Afternoon Music is now interesting music whenever! Let your freak flags fly my homeslices.

"C.O.N.F.O.R.M."
DJ Shadow featuring Gift Of Gab, Lateef The Truth Speaker, Infamous Taz
Our Pathetic Age

This instrument can teach, it can illuminate, and yes it even can inspire
But it can do so only to the extent that humans are determined to use it to those ends
Otherwise, it's nothing but wires and lights in a box

Running, rushing, blood spilling
Tears are pouring, it seems the well is never filled
Mentally exhausted, overworking, take another pill
All to keep the owner of the corporation stacking billions

These corporations manipulating our daily lives
Got us exasperated working through all of our days and nights
Sacrifices your leisure time to end up at a 9 to 5
To work until you are deceased without a single moment for peace

Never still, it just keeps rolling down the hill, nobody tries to stop it
Dont get cocky get you killed, you'll be a trending topic
A cog up in the wheel
A sacrifice to the cult of death being built

Caught up in the matrix, virtual digital minds
We don't memorize phone numbers or directions when
We drive
We don't even have to go shopping to get our food and buy things
We only push a button, we don't even have to try

Can't even lift an eye up away from my phone
Talking to Instagram live just so I don't feel alone
Flooding my Twitter feed with my deepest feelings and thoughts
My page is public but my sense of conversation is blocked
I validate myself through followers just to feel important
Instead of living in the moment, I much rather record it
Nobody knows my first name but know my Snapchat handle
I'm just a millennial trapped in social media standards

C O N F O R M
I see oppression within an effort
C O N F O R M
To own the rights of my expression
C O N F O R M
I see expression, influence, the feeling
C O N F O R M
To wipe our opinions, we are the meaning of conformity

Shelling out melodies and feverish frequencies
Funding boardroom salaries, they pay me in exposure
No penalties when they're late paying me
No benefits seen, just means for you to leave the home, foreclosure
Advertise that revenue, everything that you consume
All for them, less for you, they do all the sorting
Try to figure out ways to make you feel important
While they keep robbing you blind, hold extortion

In some sense that's the power of the Internet
On the other hand, that's a perfect formula for the dark side
This is our generation's form of nuclear power
How we deal with this will be the stuff in history

"Burn. Flicker. Die."
American Aquarium
Burn. Flicker. Die.

Dollar bill prescriptions in a bathroom stall
Red headed women and alcohol
Say it ain't so, say it ain't last call
A whiskey on the rocks and adderall
A whiskey on the rock and adderal

We’re no different than the neon lights
When you turn us on we stay up all night
We do what we can, we put up a fight
Then we burn too long and we flicker and die

I know it's not Friday, but here's some good pick me up music. I've been diggin on these guys lately. They have a wide range of sounds and they sometimes remind me of Pearl Jam. Because of that, @Hulk, you should really like them.

@DaveInDenver if you have them on vinyl, then I give up.

I'd never heard of them. Cool find, definitely a primary goal of this thread is new noise to stuff in your sound holes. Like Low Cut Connie mentioned long ago.

There's still bands bringing forth the rock.

NSFW (or with young children about as the case may be).

Man, I really hope Ronapocalypse doesn't permanently end reasonably priced live music in sketchy clubs and bars.

I've only been able to see Social Distortion a couple of times. Once was a huge concert in St. Louis called Pointfest. I guess it would have been either 1996 or 1997. It would have been right about when we moved to Denver so must have been 1997.

The other, funny enough since @ajordan1975 mentions the Bottlerockets, was in Indianapolis. We drove over from Cape Girardeau (where I was in school) to see them in October 1990. Even then they had become kind of big so it was a decent sized place. Couldn't tell you the name of it, though. Not long after they finished that tour they got hooked up and were opening for Neil Young and Sonic Youth.

Ironic because...
