True, $400 might make me think about it more, I think mine was much cheaper than that but I got in on it early... now he knows they are hot items.

Base price on the 80 series lid is more than the 60 series ($325 vs. $275) and he has changed the latch options and they cost anywhere from $42 to $130 depending on what you select. Throw in shipping and pricing runs around $400-$490 or so...Makes you think twice about pulling the trigger

I know what you mean but I pulled the trigger and it is a great mod. You could duplicate it and build your own but my guess is you will spend every penny and then some before it was done

after I got my $500 estimate a few weeks ago for the stainless latches and grippy plastic I had to pass for the time being.

I paid 275 for mine ( Because I got on the list under the wire before prices went up) and it is invaluble. The milk crate in the back is gone and all my recovery/spare birfs,ujoints,ubolts,fuses/firstaid/manuals etc. are stowed away nicely. I added barrel locks to help out the plastic latches. But of course my tailgate weighs 100lbs now. It's just nice to have it tucked away in previously un-utilized free space. Oh, and mines on a 60
