UPDATE

meet up location: https://maps.app.goo.gl/CEyZVbvCBKDXM1N9A
8:30am in the north parking lot at the rear of the building.

What to bring: gloves, clothing to accommodate variable weather conditions, something to take notes with, sunscreen, water bottle (there is a drinking fountain in the lodge as well as bathrooms), sack lunch is recommended but there are restaurants available locally. There will be short bathroom breaks in the morning and lunch at noon.

Class schedule is typically mornings inside the lodge, classroom style discussions and learning and after lunch, in field exercises depending on weather conditions.
During in field exercises carpooling is encouraged with a 10 vehicle max for those portions of the class only. If weather conditions are less than ideal for on trail training, in the past, Bill has used his own vehicles for education.

Josh Ball @MonPetiteShoe is the group leader

Correct, 10 trucks is the limit on trail.

I'd clear it with Bill, but I'm pretty sure you're good.

We'll be leaving in the afternoon. Hopefully all the goons stay on the west side of Vail pass.

We'll be monitoring GMRS channel 20 as we cruise the I-70 corridor.
I'll try to monitor the forum as often as service allows.

Drive safe everyone.

Sitting in stopped traffic on Vail Pass. Saw a couple emergency vehicles squeezing through. Hope everyone is safe & taking their time.

Bring plenty of patience and a car that can idle.

3rd large recovery vehicle just went past. Trailing a fire truck and a fire department SUV.

Thinking this is going to take a while.

We’re at the front of the line and there’s 2 18 wheelers blocking the road and they said it’s going to be a couple hours :(

Blergh. At least it’s a pretty view & I’ve got audio books, internet and plenty of gas. Wait, is this over-landing? Should we be posting this to YouTube?!

Anyway, enjoy the sit.

I hear some static / almost chatter on GRMS 20. Will dm my phone if anyone needs to communicate up here.

It's a mess on Vail Pass. Good luck all.

Good news is from Vail town all the way out is fine. A little wet in Glenwood Canyon but nothing accumulating.
