It wasn’t that long ago that guys with 40s that they used, abused and kept the trucks going were the real hipsters and were to be venerated as the leaders of the pack. I still venerate that idea and see where our sport has gone as being a huge step backward. Progress? I don’t think so.

I don’t know if that image is a render/AI or what…

But when that things breaks down in the backcountry somewhere, the old head who’s wrenched on their 40 for decades will most certainly be the one under the 200 fixing it to get it off the trail.

It's real. I've seen it in person.

Different strokes and all. Not my cup-o-tea either. Nothing new, in my class any way, appeals to me at all.

Back to your regularly scheduled thread, I present the T-Mag 🤤

I didn’t say he’d be successful!

I see the 40 guy under the 200 at least trying to fix something, maybe wrapping bailing wire around something. The 200 owner is adjusting their satellite trying to call a tow truck.

I was making a joke with a grain of truth. It’s a generalization. You work on something all the time and you know every weird noise and vibration. You know where to look for the problem, and generally how to solve problems. You buy a very complex truck and you might (not always) lack those skills.

I got to go check this out and go inside it in person and it is so awesome. Would love to convert my 200 into something like this.

Not to belabor the discussion, but the Maltec 200's are awesome. Not in my realm of affordability, but if had the $$$ I would own one. I was on a trip with one back in January and they are impressive platforms for exploring in comfort. I was slumming in a tent, but the 2 guys camping from that rig were comfortable.
