Is it Unibody or Body on Frame?

It's an IMV platform, ladder frame, part time 4WD. It seems like Toyota may have designated it a 500 series Land Cruiser. Although in one of the documents they show a TNGA-F chassis. The Thai one they called it "Toyota-Land-Cruiser-FJ" for the chassis photo but is that actually the Hilux Champ since it's 2WD and leaf sprung (under axle, too)? No idea.

Sounds like this vehicle is a moot point. Not coming to the US.

A moot point to the 193 countries and 7.5 billion people that are not 'Mericans or Canucks? Maybe knowing what could be people will pressure the always helpful CBP/DOT/EPA to change the rules. Maybe not, though.

What about all the aliens in space Dave? There's a hundred billion stars in our galaxy that could potentially have life and there's over a hundred billion galaxies in the universe. You're really discounting all those individuals who aren't Chinese, Vietnamese, Japanese, Australian, Korean, Mongolian, Samoan, Brazilian, Chilean, Colombian, Venezuelan, Saudi Arabia, Egyptian, South African, Nigerian, Kenyan, Moroccan, Irish, English, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Sudanese, Thai, Cambodian, Malaysian, Sumatran, Indian, Nepalese, Pakistani, Iraqi, Yemeni, Russian, Turkish, Libyan, Algerian, Argentinian, Paraguayan, Bolivian, Peruvian, Ecuadorian, Panamanian, Costa Rican, Haitian, Tongan, Indonesian, Taiwanese, Ukrainian, Georgian, Romanian, Tajikian, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistanian, Iranian, Omani, Libyan, Bulgarian, Greeks, German, Polish, Finnish, Norwegian, Swedish, Kazakhs, Tanzanian, Portuguese, Austrian.

All I was getting at is its another unicorn we can get in the US.

Looking at function over form, this would be very nimble and well suited for Appalachia and woody east where trails are tight.

It makes perfect sense to me as an entry level vehicle to build a brand loyal buyer that will eventually buy a 70/250/300 or whatever in the future. And in our market I bet it would sell. I'd buy one for the wife rather than another Outback. At least if she wanted access to a trailhead in Silverton she wouldn't overheat her CVT trying to get to somewhere like Highland Mary.

They can put all the specs they want on it and promote it as whatever cutesy thing it's supposed to be but the bottom line is it looks like a big pile of hot plastic garbage. It's an SUV but not a Land Cruiser nor an FJ. The Land Cruiser badge has been irrepairably damaged in recent years and Toyota should be ashamed. They're going in a direction I simply cannot follow. That's where I stand on the matter.

Fair enough. Looking back, yeah, you rightly called out a weak sauce emotional reductio ad absurdum but I don't think it's fair to retort an appeal to extremes.

I mean no disrespect of any of galatic neighbors and most certainly do not wish to be a threat upon the supply of illudium phosdex.

This is headed the right direction, someone got a little excited and added lights on top of the lightbar and that shovel needs to go. ai prefers its antenna mounted to the front flare.
