No kiddingI wish it was today!
This looks like all good stuff. Same set up I use, most trailer hitches have solid connections to frames and that adapter allows for some versatility. Don't forget to add a nice rated screw pin bow shackle to connect your strap to the hitch adapter if you don't have one yetHi DomofTheDead,
I have a 21' Tacoma. Is it ok to use the Factor 55 - hitchLink for recovery point (see image) See image attached. Also is there anything else I need besides, shovel and recovery strap? I have a midland 2-way radio!
Cheers,
NovaTacoma![]()
Great, thank you for verifying. I'll make sure to grab a good screw pin bow shackle! This looks like all good stuff. Thanks for the reply! I was definitely planning on staying with the second group to learn from those guys. I'll get a shovel this week! You should be fine with what you have, you may want to hang with the second group since they will be giving info on the basics of snow wheeling and recovery techniques and you will not be left alone or stranded if you should get stuck. And as I said above a square point shovel is a great tool to have if you don't high center yourself. Go up get stuck, get unstuck and do it again. If you don't get stuck your not trying hard enough.
Don't worry about your tire size, lots of folks attending are just running 33s. Simply airing down should be sufficient.Hey y'all! I attended my first monthly meeting in January, and I am hoping to make it to the winter trail run on Saturday.
I bought an 80 series in December, and I'm in the process of building it out. I have some questions to ask about this specific trail run to make sure my rig is capable. I'm a newbie when it comes to snow runs.
My truck currently has 31.5" tires on the stock wheels. After airing down, will these be large enough to manage the snow?
I don't have a winch installed on my truck yet. Will that be an issue?
I don't have a radio, but I read that loaners will be available. Do you think there will be enough loaners for the number of people planning on attending?
I have a tow strap and mounting points on the front & rear. I also have a hi-lift jack. Is this recovery gear sufficient?
Thanks in advance, and I hope to see y'all on Saturday!
a head count for pizza is helpful but is tough to estimate due to various factors. Right now we have a preorder in for 8 large pizzas, pretty much the exact same order as last year, cost total is almost right at $400 including tip. Drinks not included.Looks like Susan may be able to drive up and meet us for Pizza (which means I would have 3 for Pizza). Didn't know if you needed a count for the pizza place. My passenger is a new 80 owner who is going to do a run and a meeting so he can join the club.
