71, the starter wouldn't disengage and I'm sure it's gone with the amount of smoke coming from the truck. Pretty sure it's cooked. The 81 drive flanges and birfields splines went...

Update from the Forest service. She’s unsure about the Red Cone side, but normally (to my knowledge) it the saddle that keeps snow until late June/ early July. That saddle, geographically, is where the vertical red cone “descending traffic only” meets websters pass summit and handcart road begins to return to the 285 side. So, I’m thinking it’s probably passable- but we might need to exit red cone via Websters to Montezuma.
Regardless, I plan to go on Wednesday and check it out! 😁.

The latest I heard from people running it this past weekend, is that Red Cone was open. But Webster pass is closed. I didn't get much detail on the steep descent at the end, but last year it was still a sheet of ice around this time. 🤷‍♀️
I feel safer doing Slaughterhouse as well with such a late start. See you then!!!

Not an issue- I actually ran it through all the way through on Monday? and it’s completely clear so it’s OPEN and Websters is open per forest service. They are too lazy to change the sign off 285 😅
