I wanted to avoid surprise heater line leaks so I stripped them, checked them, cleaned them, and refoamed them. The short ones were easy. Longer ones might be harder to re foam. We shall see.

Well while Adam and I were geeking out on proper heater line routing we bumped into a picture he took of a stock '82 and it shows the t case shifter knob I had in that previous picture on the left. It also correlates with Bruce's 82 60 which is cool!

How did you re-foam the heater lines? Did you just find foam of the appropriate size and slide it on?

Exactly, I used this PN:

McMaster Carr part # 4339T8

I put some baby powder in it and slid it on. It actually worked easier than I thought.

Here's another question....

Does anybody know where the circled part of the negative battery cable goes? I can't figure it out. I don't remember how mine was routed.

So the dome lights with two wires are apparently rarer than hens teeth. The only one I could find was abused one that had the rivet for the lever about to fall out. When I got the major crust off of it it did fall out...

So...

I machined a new brass rivet and put it back together. It works really well now.

Showing rusted rivet and new brass rivet:

I know it doesn't look like much but I was fretting this one.

Well sometimes you go backwards. Had to take the defrost vents off to put in the new linkage.. I was kinda sad but it went pretty quickly! It is literally unbelievable how well the wipers work with all new OEM stuff. It was extremely expensive but worth it I think.

More geek squad stuff. The new Toyota signal lights don't come with a ground wire but my harness has one. My guess is the new lights people are selling are for an earlier model. So.... I added a ground wire to them.
