What have you done to your rig today?

What size tire are you running? I just ordered those same Methods for the LX.
I run 255/80/17 Falken WP AT4s most of the year. I run Nokian Hakkapelita 275/70/18s in the winter and will be moving away from the OEM wheels in the winter to Method 318s due to the 60 offset on the OEMs being too tight for the new BP51s and OME UCAs.

Replaced the long over due CV’s in the Tacoma today. Was no where near as bad as I made it out to be. Also changed the oil and rotated the tires and cleaned the rims 😮‍💨

Ready for another trip to the ranch though 🤘

Winter tire swap and new wheels for my winter tire set up (Nokian Hakkapelitta LT3 275/70/18). I run 17" Falkens on Method 703s during the non snow season and the Hakkas only come in 18s (already had the set). Naturally, that means new wheels - Method 318's in bronze. Contrast with the summer set up.

Passed emissions! No funny business. Timing advanced for altitude, 1/4 tank of shitty low octane fuel from king Soopers, 33” bfg ats and the old gas cap. Basically just popped in on my way through town. It went for a ridiculously long time on the rollers and then the system signaled “re test OK” (maybe it failed?) and they went for it again and it passed. They didn’t open the hood, look under it, or check the OBD port. Just gas cap and rollers

So far... one new UCA! 5.5 start to finish including removal of old UCA. I kept jumping in the house to peep the Buckeyes game. Next side should/could/ hopefully will be quicker!
Second side took around 2 hrs. Did you know that an 18" cresent wrench can replace a pickle fork?

I’m curious how those Haka’s work out. I love Nokian tires but really don’t like directional tread patterns. So I went with the Toyo snows for my 250.

18” Crescent wrenches can fill in for a bunch of tools you might not have in the tool box, BFH included. 😎 I found mine in the well behind the rear wheel of a 62 I bought years ago. It had been a work truck before I got it so it was happy that someone who actually appreciated an old Cruiser and it offered up the wrench to show some love.

@Doughboy and I got middle kid off the PS5 and into the garage turning wrenches on his truck Saturday. Swapped the master cylinder and now the Trailblazer stops.
We also figured out that a freeze plug popped out of the block at some point…. Now I’m thinking motor swap….

I’m sure all sorts of things can be learned on a PS5 but it can’t compare to under the hood knowledge learned with Pops. 👍

I love Nokians. I’ve been running them on sedans and trucks for 10+ years. They were great on the LC last year even with some moderate off roading in the snow. The biggest drawback to them, and one of the reasons they’re so good in the cold and snow, is that they’re pretty darn soft. I don’t take the vehicle out when it’s 60+ out or they’ll burn off like crazy. I take the other car which I don’t put snows on anymore. Because of the temps on the front range, especially last year, I couldn’t afford to burn off two sets of snow tires so I keep the sedan in all seasons.

New Starter in the PlowPig. Fixed the wiring. The old starter had the date code of 02/1982! No wonder it barely cranked over when cold. Now it fires on the first crank!

Pulling both front door panels to add more sound proofing and eliminate the small rattles that have been driving me crazy for 3 years now. Toyota did a really poor job of insulating/sound deading in the 3rd gen Tundras. Just a piece of plastic on an aluminum door. I will be using a dyna mat substitute and two inch thick foam to help my issues. I used this same system on my rear doors and it made a huge difference.

But before I do that im gonna swap out the factory front speaks with some new Kicker 6 3/4" two way speakers.

Got the driver side done, knock out the passenger side Saturday. Found just a loose hard wire or some other issue that was rattling just to the left of the white plastic covering that was a pain to get to.
