Debut day. The front on the left looks pretty sweet.

Sounds like we are in agreement, honestly. The 4Runner is a cheap econobox or you can spec it up to top of the range which is bottom of the Prado range. Just like you can get a cheap econobox Tacoma or spec it up to the range of a full-size pickup. The reason would be because the Prado is a slightly larger and more upscale platform that would get the new turbo V6 and the 4Runner is the economy platform that's going to stick with budget engines.
Are the Prado and 4Runner essential the same thing with different sheet metal? I thought all the J150 platform variant models were similar anyway. Be interesting to see what happens to all these models with GA-F platform.

Regards the new 300 series, they didn't show a North American start time. The Cruiser is I guess well and fully dead in the U.S. Long live the Cruiser.

@DaveInDenver I think the Prado and the Lexus GX are the same truck and the 4 Runner is a more economy version.
I suppose it comes down to what defines a platform. The GX and Prado are indeed very close, like to the point of just different badges? But I understood the 4Runner shared the frame, suspension and drivetrain. We'll see in the next few years I guess when they're all kissing cousins, right?

I just look forward to the day when they give the Tacoma a full boxed frame that doesn't bounce around like the rails are made from spongy wet noodle. Or maybe the plan is to make them all drive like that going forward. Lucky us!

Seriously, three years of being flexed on my Taco the WilderNest has developed more stress fractures than its previous 20+ on the bed of a 3rd gen Hilux/Pickup. I can even *hear* the fiberglass creak and groan just by jacking up the rear end.

I don't know why my friends are constantly criticising Toyota's exterior. In my opinion Toyota looks great especially talking about SUVs.

That is pretty cool that it could be had 3x locked. Out of curiosity, was the 200 available with a front locker anywhere?

Also, I hadn't seen any interior shots yet. I guess the 300 has the tacked on ipad look that was all the rage with every manufacturer about 5-10 years ago. I really really don't like that look. Toyota should hire out whoever designed the interior of the Ineos Grenadier. That interior it 10 out of 10.
