I had a weld failure on my 4x4 labs rear. Figured I would get it repaired locally but Luke was awesome and sent another bumper out to swap on. Once I switch them out the one one is going back their way.

Decided it was a good time to repaint the front as well. PO has put some kind of bedliner material that had sun faded bad. Grinding it all off was a real PTA. Still had a few hours of work after the photo below.

Went with a rustoleum self etch primer and then topcoating with their high performance enamel in gloss black. I considered raptor liner, but rattle can repairs are always a nice option.

Finally found a way to mount fuel pax universal plate to the cross bars of extended Yakima Load Warrior. Had to widen the holes on zinc plate, but fitted it with carriage bolts and nylocks. Now have 4.5 gallons of fuel and 4 gallons of water in Waterport on roof. Hot showers and extended range! San Rafael Swell, here I come!

Put a new starter in the DD and backed the LX out of the garage under its own power.

New wheels and tires. Originals were corroded some and tires had just 5/32, 265/65R17 Duelers. Replaced with 18" 4Runner rims, used Toyo Open Country ATII 265/265R18 (1" taller) . Price was right - props to :bowdown:Toytec! We'll have a fun project this weekend to swap the center cap Lexus and Toyota emblems. I want to keep the Toyota as a nod to the Prado underneath. She likes the Leuxs. :Princess: car.

Dropped the airbags into the rear coils yesterday. Seem small to me but I guess the idea is to add outward pressure to the coils and not have the bag support top to bottom. We'll see how it works once I load it up. Pretty easy process. I did not even need to use the spring compressors once I removed the panhard bar, shocks and sway bar links. A side note, I forgot to take the spring compressors back before I left Firestone and drove back to superior🙄

Let me know how you like those Adam, I'm looking at getting them for my 4Runner.

Those airbags look too short.

Yeah those look a little short they should make a similar set that are same diameter but longer. Give em a shot first though if you find you need a lot of pressure then maybe trade up. My bags add noticable stiffness at only 5psi and I've carried some pretty heavy loads/trailers with not more than 15psi in the bags.

I have 10 psi in them just to keep them stationary. Working range is supposedly 5 to 35 psi. I plan to load the truck up this weekend and see how it acts.

Drove it home from the exhaust shop. First time driving her in almost a year! Still some things to tidy up and then she should be ready!

Got some falcon all terrains for my 80. While I was installing the I noticed my front track bar bushings were going so I replaced those and did an alignment. I'm running dobinsons offset bushings and a small lift. Caster is higher than I thought but it sure drives nice. Curious how these tires will do.

Truck still isnt on the road yet. Few more things before I find out.
I bet it works really well with those new cylinders in there, just get the gaps dialed in and it'll probably throw you over the handle bars.

@White Stripe I'm interested to hear your feedback on those tires, I see a bunch of them now. Like how well do they drive from Jefferson to Fairplay through the ice and drifts at 0 deg F with a 60mph side wind... that always seems to be about the time I reflect about how good my tires are. Also by front track bar, do you mean the panhard rod?

Was surprised that Precision Fit actually had the template for custom FJ60 covers. Went ahead and ordered some, took about 3 months to get them, but they're super nice, and only few bucks more than the SOR covers. I have a set in my 91 pickup too, just not the Carhartt material. Pulled the seats out to install and cleaned the carpets while I had the chance. Feels like a new truck. :)
