Based on Tims recommendation, I offered $17,094 for the cruiser, as well as $3,000 extra for shipping, and his troubles...Had to pull funds from my Nigerian bank account, but hoping for a positive reply.

Why is it so impossible to find a respectable project FJ40? It seems like most are destroyed by rust or $17k.

I checked this one out: frame seems solid, runs rough (carb adjustment?), shifts okay thru all gears, transfer case works. Mostly unmolested - only non-OEM parts I spotted were an aftermarket-carb and wiring for a plow. Floorboards, rear sill, rear quarters all rusty.
Would be a reasonable candidate for an ambitious restoration.
Current owner friendly. Not sure where he is on price.
