If this is the one you are thinking of the build lives on in with Tank5 in New Mexico (build thread).

Kinda sad I didn't snap it up when it hit craigslist in 2010 but it's good to see someone finished it.

That's it, thanks! Fun truck...

Bunch of vintage FJ40 posters and CD's full of information I guess? Plus some other nick-nacks...

Top speed = 65 MPH, @ 4 MPG - that is awesome!

Spare parts should be easy on that one. It looks like the steering column u-joints are interchangeable with the drive shafts.

4mpg at 65 isn't much different than a full size RV. I've seen my dad's RV hit 1mpg under a small hill at speed. Eye opener for sure.

Just finished a two month trip in a 25ft RV...at highway, average was around 6mpg at times. Thankfully I had the company card for gas.......

Ha! Plus I am sure that battery wiring shouldn't give anyone any trouble. Not a problem for the wires to be under tension like that.

The frame seems to be straight and the motor and radiators seem to be intact but did not start.

Must have used his magic Frame-straightness X-ray goggles to determine this.

Cheap enough, and that's a SAS candidate. If the title isn't salvage, it might work. I've used a frame shop before, and it's amazing what can be done. If you are linking a front axle with adjusters, I would bargain that getting the frame extremely close would be more than enough to have it track correctly. Trying to put IFS back on....not a chance I would touch that. It would appear they tagged a telephone pole right on the quarter panel and bypassed the frame itself, but mangled the suspension. I think the torsion bar mount in the back is probably pushed....but look, no broken windshield, passenger door looks okay, and the a pillar looks okay too. Trick is, what's "cheap" enough....
