Well, having lived at 9000' ASL for over ten years I have experienced what snow plow trucks have to deal with first hand. Wheeling is hard on a vehicle, for sure, stressing everything the designers engineered to their max. Snow plowing is harder still on a vehicle, dealing with forces I don't think were considered when originally engineered. Just my opinion of which I am full of. Such as: Don't follow old Volkswagen buses on two lane hiways. Don't follow cars with temporary tags. Don't follow cars with handicap plates. Don't follow Prius's. YMMV. :thumb: And, Martin, if given the option, I would buy a vehicle that hadn't been wheeled over one that had if everything else, maintenance etc., was the same. Going to look at a '96 LX450 for a friend tomorrow that the current owners say has never been off road. That it's advertised as never being off road is a plus in my book even if it does have "brushguards" on it right now. Whether that statement is true remains to be seen.

Having experienced owning a couple past plow trucks including my fj45 I would agree that they get beat! We had to weld up several spots on the 45 frame and the removal of all the plow crap is always a pain. Plus people that convert them to plows dont care about what they cut up or weld too.

Pretty sure I know which one you're talking about. It has been for sale for a couple months now. Even after owning it for their claimed 8 years or whatever, there is no maintenance history at all. Every preventive maintenance or just general maintenance item I asked about had not been addressed yet. I also wouldn't be surprised if there's frame rust. The pictures I've seen show the hitch covered in it, although the owner claims there's absolutely no rust anywhere. I tried to see if he was willing to budge on price before I made the drive since it's been for sale so long, and he said only a little. Could potentially be a decent deal if he moves on price and it's cleaner than the ad shows.

Where is this one located? It would be good to know if it is the same one.
Thanks!

You think his camera date is off? Shows 2011, but the odo matches the ad.

Edit: Never mind. Green tag on license plate shows 2016

This is a trailer fab place that sells leftover pieces of steel. I went and grabbed a bunch yesterday to make an engine run stand. Mostly 2x2 tube and some 2x6 and 2x4 tube. Some I beam and angle but not a lot when I was there. Guy told me someone had just came and cleaned them out of most of it. The 2x2 was great deal. Lots of 6ft sections. AAron was really nice and helpful.
