Original 4 speed in 73? Is that right?

I'm tempted...and I'm not even looking for a 40;). Seems like a rebuilt engine is all you'd need to be a part of the 40s only run!

I gotta take a look at it...exact same as my first 40 that Ige and Root helped me load up on a trailer. It had no engine, and I ended up selling it to some yahoo who was going to pay me the final $500 before I would give him the title, and he never did! Anyway.....tempting.....

Not to my knowledge. I had an early 74 and it was a 3spd. 74 was a transition year, so the second one I bought had the 4spd but with the early 3spd transfer case on it. 73 would have been 3spd all the way to my recollection.
