With as lofty as the valuations of these have been I expected to see more miles on the chassis. Pretty cool truck, but I wonder how remote it could really get with the tires that are on it presently?
Where was this thing parked to have so much fading and peeling?
Probably should have used a Dessert Tan raptor liner...

I really like these! Not sure why, but i think they are AWESOME!
They are neat in an abstract sort of way. The people who own them are playing in a different financial game than I'll ever be in.

I hadn't noticed the fading until you mentioned it. That is quite a lot of fading. It makes me curious about what some of the rubber seals and water sealants look like on this vehicle now.

I really like the concept of an Earth Roamer too, but I don't really understand the desire to have granite counter tops and ceramic tile in an off road vehicle.

I guess there are two kinds of Earthroamer owners. One type is someone who is well off and it's a toy no different than having a Porsche or Harley in the garage. There's a stereotype about them but whatever that is the sure thing is they're in another world from most of us.

The other are people who RV full time and want something more off highway capable than the standard Class A bus chassis. When you think about living in an RV how you outfit it is different. While I don't know if I'm a snow bird type when (really if) I ever retire I can appreciate that typical RV construction is pretty lousy and I wouldn't want to call one "home". So when you consider that a reasonable Class A is six figures the ER can be competitive (more so since you don't have to tow a Jeep in theory) and granite kitchen counters aren't surprising in what's in effect your house.

The cheaper options, like the old Sunrader are similar in concept but the construction was more typical of low end. So people driving them now have renovated them with nicer interiors that fall somewhere in between the ER and typical RV.

Saw a place like that, fart jars, in Arizona once. Really. They had a rattlesnake skin that was 20' long. No, really!
