Bought some rims on CL, older gentleman showed me what they came off of. Gorgeous truck inside and out! He uses it as a freakin plow truck at his ranch in Montana! He did say that he might sell it, he would like a newer 80s 40 with a "5 speed" and disc brakes. PXL_20240612_184745757.jpg

Met the owner of Land Cruiser Heaven in Lake City this morning. Rick I think? I had a disaster of a race on Saturday and my brain is still recovering.

Driving a nicely built 80 series imported from Dubai. LHDOriginally a 1fz but swapped to a 1hdt with a 5 speed. Stainless snorkels always get me to half mast.

Yep, one block down from me. It comes and goes - I imagine it's garaged when I don't see it.

Anybody care to guess which model this is? KZJ78? 77? I suppose it could have a 1FZ or a PZ in it, too. I'm out of my element with most 70 Series, especially the Prados.

I’m pretty sure it’s the KZJ78W with the 1KZ-TE 3.0L 4cyl turbo diesel. I used to own one very similar to that one. Mine was a 1994 so I’m guessing this one is a 1993-1995 model.

Would a 1PZ being 5 cylinder inline even fit in a J78 Prado? These trucks only ever got I4 or V6 engines, right? Even to the current Prado. The only outlier that comes to mind is only 120-derived, that being a 4th gen 4Runner that had a V8 and even that would only be 4 cylinders long technically.

I think you’re right. The F, P and H series engines came in the full size land cruisers whereas the K R L G series engines came in the smaller Prados.

Fisker Karma. Had to look it up. Hulk will recognize this parking lot.

I thought Fisker had been mentioned and sure 'nuff it was ... a decade ago!

Well they went bankrupt. Which seems to be a consistent theme with Henrik Fisker. :-(

I spotted a very rare beast the other day here at Robin's house. The originator of this thread @Beater John Henley dropped by. Forgot a pic but he wasn't driving a Toyota anyway ;)

John is a great guy. He recently retired from his corporate job and is now 100% focused on his art, a lot of which involves welding!
