While in Cali with my family visiting, I saw a solid pun vanity plate. Please forgive him for not driving a Yota.

Also a convertible FJ Cruiser.

Idk either guys.

It is statistical improbably that the owner of this 200 is a member of RS, but I cannot remain silent to the fact that I am aggressively envious of their setup. Boat. Built 200. That‘ll do pig. That’ll do.

Spotted at Ocean Isle Beach, NC.

That was my thought too. In addition to the old plate, it was an older gentleman and when I honked at him he had zero acknowledgment to give me - totally points to an original owner situation.
Maybe he didn’t acknowledge you because you were driving a 60. Us 62 drivers, especially we older ones, are very discerning about who we wave at.

Saw this on 93 heading in to Boulder today, next to the Ecto 1. Love all the cars they have there. 25,000 dollars or rupies? Maybe it's the rhino-lined winch. And what's up with all the 100s, 200s, and GX's in Boulder? I saw more of them than jeeps, not exaggerating.

I don't believe those are original old plates. They are offering that color combo now for current plates from DMV. The OG plates were 2 letters and 4 numbers, XX-1234.
That one can't be new. It's ELT-718, so 3 letters and 3 numbers. Since 2018 the fourth character has been a letter, e.g. ABC-D12.

The two-digit county codes went to three letters <dash> three numbers, ABC-123, from 1982 to 1992. ELT would be Douglas County, who held the range EHW to EMA.

In 1992 the plates went to three letter smashed together with four numbers, ABC1234, until 2000 when the current plates came, which went back to 123-ABC and dropped the county codes.

I do think honestly that this is the original owner and likely the only plates it's ever had on it. The truck would have been new exactly at the time Douglas would have been using that prefix.

Fun fact, the county code FU never was used (El Paso would have had the honor, they did use FT and FV). Too bad, those would be a real badge to hang on your garage wall.

What color? Did it have the big fat clear JDM window guards?

Darkish gray/green? Don’t remember the window guards. It was right around dark so visibility wasn’t great.

Thanks @DaveInDenver, Glad to know I'm not the only license plate nerd around here. I've got them on my 80! I wish they had raised letters like the old days and the Colorado font is also different, which kind of irks me.
