You and I made it over a couple years ago. We bashed and smashed our way down the other side. There was another first gen Tacoma with us. I think it red or maroon?
But that was probably only the second or third time I've seen that happen in the last decade.
We can do it!

I took the day off Thursday and did another casino night with a girlfriend and run up Yankee Hill. Snow conditions were good with the added snow all the way up. Not as icy as a month or so ago. The main way up was pretty easy all the way to what I call the glacier\drift at timberline. Spur roads on the way up were not traveled, including the playground - so those should be fun. Barley made it thru the glacier drift. Front locker was just enough to get me thru it at the end. Couldn't quite make to the tip top of Yankee Hill. A little snow and rocks on the steep hill held me up. Got stuck once above the glacier coming down while playing around - see pic. It sure doesn't look like I'm stuck. The snow up top is extremely hard\windblown and instantly hangs you up. Had to winch out. Lower down it's softer and will be fun to bust open new spurs with others.

Great report and thanks for making the trip to update us. It'll probably get more icy over this week as temps rise and no snow forecasted that I can see.

@DomOfTheDead I'm a strong maybe. I'm getting slammed with homework this week. It might be a good idea to find an alternate TG. I'm knocking out homework but these damn papers are killing me. I'm 75% sure I can make it but I just don't want it to be super last minute in the case that I cannot make it.

I don't understand why I need to write all these 8 page papers on something that can be done in 4 pages or less....

Cheers,
Angelo

Yeah that stuff is so lame. I don't miss school. My industry also has some pretty stupid arbitrary stuff for certifications that drive me nuts as a trianer.

Sam from Stay the Trail told me last weekends sxs group was really small and they didn't go very far up the trail.

I won't be able to pick up our breakfast burrito order until 7:45 in Golden so I might be showing up around 9. Upon arrival, we will distribute said burritos, have our drivers meeting, air down my 80 and roll out.

Looking forward to seeing all your smiling faces and having a good day!🤘

@DomOfTheDead i have a sick wife and kid. It’s looking pretty unlikely I’ll be there in the morning.

Pretty bummed since it looks like a great group and significantly larger than the Bill Moore run in the fall I attended.

Cheers all
Best wishes and get well to your family. Don't worry, we have plenty more events coming up.
