All,

I'm looking for someone who gives instruction in stick welding. there are lots of places that do mig/tig etc... but finding a confident and willing stick welding instructor seems to be a bit harder. I'm specifically interested in this because I am planning some blacksmith anvil repairs and stick is the only real way to do it. Also I just like the idea of learning the hardest possible way first.

Anyone have a rec?

Thanks!

Mat

I'd recommend doing one of the continuing education seminars at Front Range Community College if you're OK with it not being free. The Ft. Collins campus is where I did my associates in welding, it's a really good lab/shop and wouldn't be the worst drive for you. The instructors are mostly retired or moonlighting AWS-certified from oil/gas pipe and fab or Walker mowers factory. They're not hacks.

All their one-day classes:

Thanks! I'm expecting to pay regardless. Just want good instruction as my time is my limiting factor these days. I'll look into FRCC.
