So, it sounds like I'm going to try and remove the Slee rear bumper and SliderSteps from my wrecked 100 sooner rather than later.

Anyone have any idea on how easy/difficult this will be? Based on the instructions on Slee's website, it doesn't look like an awful job, but since time will be a consideration (I'll be removing them at the insurance company's facility), I want to make sure I can take care of this myself, quickly and cleanly.

We installed the rear bumper on Sarahs 100 and it wasnt that difficult. I would take the tire off the spindle before removing the rest of the bumper. It is easier with a 2nd person when pulling off

I'd take some cardboard or something to protect finishes a bit as you drop shiny parts in a parking lot.

With rear bumpers the balance point may be a little forward of the hitch so you may want a 4x4 fence post that would be long enough to cover the frame rails from side to side as that beam might make it much easier to support and lower with a floor jack. This works for my 4x4 labs, not sure about the Slee exactly. Alternately you could probably support and lower it with creative use of some ratchet tie down straps.
Definitely bring a beaker bar or impact gun for the larger hardware at the frame for the bumper.

I can help if I am free when you do it. I have a floor jack that we can support the bumper with during removal. Ratchet straps would be a good idea to help support the parts during removal.

I am happy to come along to help as well if you need help. The Slee rear bumper is pretty beefy even without the swings.

You guys are awesome, thank you. I just sent my final demand letter to the insurance company - if they let me remove the bumper/sliders, I'll definitely be in touch. But again, thank you!

Sounds like I can take the bumper with me! Unfortunately, the facility where the truck is located is in Brighton (Copart, 1281 County Road 27).

I'm thinking about going next Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday morning. I need to take my rooftop tent with me as well, so I'm going to rent one of those flatbed trucks from Home Depot.

Anybody up for making the trip with me? I know weekdays suck, but Copart isn't open on the weekends, apparently. I can offer beer, gas money, and my undying respect and devotion. :D

I'm booked for the weekdays next week. Your welcome to borrow my two floor jacks and my hydro jack if you want. I'm near boulder.

No worries! I might try and take care of it solo.

Instead of the flatbed trucks, look into renting a sprinter van. Lower deck height, and just contained.

Don't know for 100s, but installing sliders on my 200 series wasn't particularly difficult. There's maybe 6-8 major bolts connecting to the frame, but at least on the 200, some of them are just tricky to get to. May need socket extensions/swivels etc.

Got the rear bumper and tent removed this morning! Copart actually made it super easy - they moved my truck to a space where I could work on it, and I was able to pull my truck/trailer up to load everything in. Glad to have that over with.

I will say that they were incredibly detailed, and double-checked the "file" to ensure that the insurance company authorized removal of the bumper and tent. They also monitored our progress as we worked on the truck to make sure we didn't take anything we weren't supposed to. Definitely wouldn't have been able to take anything else with us.
