Should have kept it....

I'm not saying I should have kept it, but I absolutely loved my XJ which I bought by slinging burgers, bussing tables, installing sprinklers, and all kinds of random jobs in high school. I learned so much about traction, left foot braking, recovery and more just by going out and messing around with friends. I always wanted a Toyota back then, but they seemed too expensive relative to the cost of XJs. I had a 93 Toyota mini truck in college for about a year, but I didn't get a Land Cruiser until 2012 and haven't looked back since!

Thinking of throwbacks, considering going with this hairstyle again. I'll have to see if I can find that flaming eyeball long sleeve tee as well...

I went through a not very fun divorce a number of years ago and settled on these two to have my own fun.

Nothing actually practical, especially given I had an hour commute but two platforms I always wanted to own and build. This was our annual elk hunting trip…

Sold them both for cheap and moved on…in a better place now but remember them fondly.

And Ingrid @Trapper50cal @nuclearlemon

Here’s another I should have kept.
85 22RE, 5spd, dual ultimate tcase, Detroit lockers front and back, working AC. This was the definition of point and shoot.
I sold this truck 12 or 13 years ago.

Nothing dramatic, but I really loved this Nissan 240SX SE I owned ages ago and it would be fun to still have it.

Did not start out off-roading, but had this '70 and half Camaro RS split nose as a first car. Everything since has been a backward slide, except for a brief moment with a Ducati 750 ss. Ah, the good old days.

I miss this truck from the blood, sweat and tears that had been put into it since I bought it in 97. I don't miss the woes of driving a GM refrigerator. Nicknamed Lucy for the uncanny ability loosen fasteners throughout the truck, it had the usual TBI 350/700r4 recipe. I was setting it up for 38s with tons, 4.56s, Detroit/lock rite, hydro assist, long travel Alcans and slowly getting ready to swap in a 241\205 doubler when a front driveshaft failure took out almost the entire drivetrain in one savage trail breakdown a little more than 8 years ago. I swore I was done with wheeling, sold the truck for $1500 including extra set of 37s, my tcase build, everything associated was loaded on some guys trailer, the truck disappeared, and I bought a Subaru. But the Suby couldn't scratch that itch for trails, and it was quickly sold before I could harm it, thus entered the Tacoma and Rising Sun. Glad it worked out this way. :giggle:

I only had 1 wheeling buddy as a full size odd ball so all my pics were of being stuck😅

Not a truck but I wish I would have kept my 1983 Schwinn Predator. Photo from an eBay listing. Same bike I got in the 5th grade.
